April was an exciting and talented South Korean girl group created by DSP Media in 2015. They burst onto the K-pop scene on August 24, 2015, with their captivating mini-album "Dreaming" which featured the hit track "Dream Candy". The group, composed of Chaekyung, Chaewon, Naeun, Yena, Rachel, and Jinsol, brought unique energy and style to the industry.
Throughout their six-year run, April faced various challenges and changes. In 2015, the group's leader, Somin, left due to creative differences, later finding success in the co-ed group KARD. In 2016, Hyunjoo took a break from the group for health reasons before ultimately departing to pursue acting. New members Chaekyung and Rachel joined in November 2016, adding fresh talent to the mix.
However, controversy arose in 2021 when allegations of bullying within the group surfaced. Despite denials from DSP Media, the group faced repercussions, including members losing endorsement deals and acting opportunities. HyunJoo later came forward to support the claims of bullying, further complicating the situation.
After much discussion and contemplation, April made the difficult decision to disband on January 28, 2022. The news saddened fans but marked the start of new chapters for the members as they embarked on individual paths. April's legacy in the K-pop world will always be remembered for their catchy music and dynamic performances.
