The dynamic and talented eleven-member boy group, The Boyz, is currently signed under IST Entertainment. They burst onto the K-pop scene on December 6, 2017, with their impressive debut EP titled "The First." Originally known as 'Cre.kerz,' the group received their official name from their agency before making their debut.
Before their official debut, The Boyz captured fans' hearts through their reality show "Flower Snack" and released the pre-debut single "I'm Your Boy." As trainees, they held their first fan meeting and landed endorsements, showcasing their rising popularity in the industry.
Initially starting with twelve members, The Boyz sadly bid farewell to Hwall (now Hyunjun Hur) in July 2019. However, their resilience and talent shone bright as they clinched the top spot on the Mnet reality show "Road to Kingdom" in February 2020. This victory catapulted them into the highly anticipated show "Kingdom: Legendary War," where they faced off against other established boy groups.
In a bittersweet twist, IST Entertainment announced in March 2022 that Eric would be taking a hiatus due to health concerns. Similarly, in August 2022, Sunwoo also took a break for health reasons. However, fans rejoiced in September 2022 when both Eric and Sunwoo made their triumphant return to The Boyz, ready to dive back into promotions and activities.
On another note, on November 16, 2023, IST Entertainment announced that Ju Haknyeon would be taking a break due to disc stenosis in his lower back. Thankfully, he returned from hiatus in time for the release of "[Phantasy] Pt.3 Love Letter," showing the group's unwavering dedication and passion for their craft.
