The Sanullim 50th Anniversary Project, launched in September 2023, is an ongoing journey set to continue through 2027 — the year marking half a century of Sanullim. This first installment captures that voyage in 10 tracks. The original songs span an extraordinary 42 years, from "Na Eotteoke", the 1977 Grand Prize winner at the 1st College Song Festival, to "Son (Hand)" from Kim Chang-hoon's 2019 fifth solo album [Ogam].

Kim Chang-hoon — Sanullim's bassist and solo singer-songwriter — personally selected each reinterpretation artist, matched each song, and even chose the cover artwork illustrator, shaping every piece of the project himself.

The reimagined soundscapes are fascinatingly diverse. OWALLOIL strips away the original narrative of "Son" and reconstructs it as jubilant modern rock, while Adios Audio does the opposite with "Hwacheo" — ruthlessly transforming its playfulness into melancholy. Galaxy Express amplifies the nihilistic roar of "Naega Wae Yeogi Inneun Ji Molla", and Crackshot pours desperate grandeur into the madness of "Munyeodo", boldly repainting even the original's daring spirit.

Other artists offer compelling updates: Rolling Quartz tops the contemplative ballad "Hoesang" with dramatic rock; THE SOLUTIONS colors the sorrow of "Jigeum Naboda" like a rainy day in Devon, England. YdBB gives the wistful rock ballad "Jinan Iyagi" a distinctly Korean ink-wash quality, while Huckleberryfinn meets the synth-pop of "Ot Jeoknneun Geon Gwaenchanha" with thick, funky rhythm for an entirely different tension.

There's rebellion too. Entrusting the classic "Na Eotteoke" — the song that first announced Sanullim and Kim Chang-hoon to the world nearly 50 years ago — to rapper D-Hack is itself an act of subversion. Meanwhile, the ballad "Bi.Bi.Bi", portraying post-breakup listlessness, is reborn through Samui in a 21st-century slacker sensibility.
