WJSN (Cosmic Girls) is a dynamic ten-member girl group hailing from South Korea and China, brought together by the powerhouse collaboration of Starship Entertainment and Yue Hua Entertainment. The name WJSN represents the group's four subunits: Wonder, Joy, Sweet, and Natural. Their exhilarating debut took place on February 25, 2016, with the release of their captivating first mini-album, "Would You Like?". In 2017, WJSN's fandom name "Ujung" was revealed by Starship Entertainment, solidifying their strong connection with their supportive fans.
Originally starting out as a twelve-member group, WJSN welcomed IOI's Yeonjung as their main vocalist for their impactful comeback, "The Secret". Showcasing their diversity and talent, WJSN introduced their first sub-unit, WJSN CHOCOME, featuring members Soobin, Luda, Yeoreum, and Dayoung, with the thrilling single album "Hmph!" in October 2020.
Stepping into the spotlight once again, WJSN made a triumphant return on January 5, 2022, with the single album "Super Yuppers!", continuing to captivate audiences with their infectious energy and charisma. Another exciting milestone for the group was the debut of their second sub-unit, WJSN THE BLACK, consisting of SeolA, Bona, EXY, and Eunseo, who made their grand entrance with the powerful single album "My Attitude" on May 12, 2021.
As they continue to evolve and excite the K-pop scene, WJSN received a significant update on their lineup on March 3, 2023. While members SeolA, Bona, EXY, Soobin, Eunseo, Yeoreum, Dayoung, and Yeonjung renewed their contracts with Starship Entertainment, Luda and Dawon decided to take new paths after their exclusive contracts ended. Despite this change, the agency confirmed that Luda and Dawon will remain integral parts of WJSN, ensuring that the group's unity and brilliance continue to shine brightly in the world of K-pop.
